IPv6 - the next step

Everybody who wants to be present in the internet of the future needs to be reachable also via IPv6. ScoutLink is having IPv6 enabled IRC servers already for a longer time. As we are trying to improve IPv6 support on our network we now have extended our infrastructure a bit. So the current IPv6 status is:

Switch done

 The switch to the new software is done. It may still take about 24 hours till all DNS entries are updated. If you encounter any real technical problems send a mail to techteam@scoutlink.net

* New Server Names: Servers are no longer named in a country scheme. They all now have names of trees. This is just a simple naming convention.

Nickserv registration disabled [Update]

As every year registration during JOTI will be handled through jotajoti.org.

What does this mean for you?

You can no more register Nicks via the "/nickserv register" command. If you  need to register an nick you have to do so via jotajoti.org

All users that are currently registered at ScoutLink do not need to reregister. Their data ist already in the Website.

Every user that registers on the website also will be automatically registered at Nickserv.

[FIXED] ScoutLink mailing system problems

Hello ScoutLinkers!

One of our root servers appears to be having some technical problems.
Therefore, whole mailing in @scoutlink.net domain is not currently working. Sorry for the inconvenience.

We will get back as soon as server administrator will fix issues.
