JOTI - Jamboree on the internet

JOTI (Jamboree on the Internet) is the biggest event on ScoutLink. It is held on the third weekend of october every year.
ScoutLink is the official JOTI carrier, approved by WOSM.aboutpixel.de / Blue Keyboard © fanny18

Because JOTI is such a big event, we have selected a few things you may wish to know, that vary from the regular everyday life of ScoutLink during non-JOTI periods:

The number of users increases dramatically during the JOTI weekend. To increase security and to keep any users who wish to cause a nuisance under control, the network takes on some of it's regular users to become Temporary Operators, or "Tempops" for short. Tempops will only have operator rights for the duration of the weekend. If you have a problem you can just ask in channel for an operator - during JOTI they are usually wearing a 'hat' which means they have a symbol in front of their name in the user list. Our permanent operators are listed online, including e-mail addresses and contact details, so if you can't find anyone else, try contacting them. You can also contact the help team or tech team. All details are included under 'the team' link on the left hand side.

There is a limit of 20 Users per IP. This means the if you have more than 20 clients at your JOTI station and are only using one router, then we need to know about it, to allow you more connections. Please leave a message including the IP or Host you will have during JOTI, and the number of clients, so that we can give you permission to connect more than 20 users.

We always need temporary servers which are only connected during the JOTI weekend (and a few weeks before for testing). If you want to know more about the requirements, then look at our TempServers page.
